What is social anxiety?

Social anxiety is a mental health disorder where everyday social interactions cause irrationality, anxiety, self-judging, embarrassment, etc.

Social anxiety makes a person question everything they do like what do I say? Do I smile? Am I smiling too much? Too little? Say something????, avoid eye contact, And a bazillion other thoughts. Daily interactions are a challenge let alone the other ones.

What are the symptoms?

1. Nausea

2. Sweating

3. Trembling

4. Shaking

5. Difficulty speaking

6. Dizziness

7. Rapid heart rate.

You may experience it differently that doesn’t mean you are abnormal you are just unique <3

Coping mechanisms

Here is a list of things that can help:)

1. Breathing exercises

2. Meditation

3. Regular sleep routine

4. Seeking help

5. Talk to a friend

6. Hug your stuffie

Spending an hour laying on your bedroom floor after hanging out with someone so you have the mental energy to do other daily tasks is not fun don’t stress yourself give yourself time to grow.

Things that may also help

Watching a ted talk or listening to a podcast related to how you feel or to know more about social anxiety here are some recommendations:

1. Social by Miles Triplett (movie)

2. The king's speech by Tom Hopper (movie)

3. Dead poets society by Peter Weir (movie)

Give it some time you will be okay.
