What is an eating disorder?
An eating disorder is a behavioral condition characterized by severe and persistent disturbances in eating behaviors and associated with distressing thoughts and emotions.
Eating disorder is a pattern of behavior of a person which is very subjective but even if it is a conscious choice or an unconscious choice it can be broken and one can always come out of it.
Something you should always keep in mind is “Don’t make an important decision with permanent effects fearing small things with impermanent effects” because as harsh as it sounds you need to step up and take the steps needed.
What are the signs?
Eating disorders are of many different types and all of them have different symptoms some of the signs that you may have an eating disorder are as follows:
Mental signs
1. Denying feeling hungry
2. Excessive exercising
3. Repeatedly exerting yourself
4. Fear of gaining weight
5. Binge eating
Physical signs
1. Stomach cramps
2. Fainting
3. Dizziness
4. Feeling cold all the time
5. Thinning of hair and nails
Coping mechanism
It is very important to have a good coping mechanism, it can make a vast difference because in this case, you need to build your self-esteem and get comfortable in your own body and break from your own patterns
1. Get a professionals help
2. Treat yourself like you would treat others
3. Talk to people about how you feel
4. Keep a food and mood diary
5. Exercise
Most things are easier said than done it is very important to be patient with yourself and treat yourself like you are a person remember it’s a journey with ups and downs.
