Alzheimer’s is a neurological disorder where a person starts losing memory. Alzheimer’s patients may experience a range of emotions through their journey it’s difficult to be robbed of one’s memory.

The person may also be embarrassed because of the dependent they have become and often feel isolated, scared, and overwhelmed.

Alzheimer’s affects people around that person immensely it takes a lot of patients, love, and willingness to take care of someone with Alzheimer’s.

1. Emotional aspect: taking care of someone who has Alzheimer’s can be draining seeing a loved one decline may make them feel anger, sadness, and helpless. It takes a lot of will to have someone’s back while living a life themselves.

2. Physical aspect: Alzheimer’s can be physically demanding giving showers, dressing, feeding, etc. are huge tasks that need immense body strength which can be very exhausting.

3. Social aspect: Alzheimer’s can affect a person’s social life and so of the person taking care of them social aspects are very limited when o have to look after someone constantly which may affect a person’s job and even personal relationships.

4. Financial aspect: it is a big responsibility to take care of someone with Alzheimer’s especially financially like a nurse or medicine and everything things can pile up especially if that person doesn’t have someone else to lean on.

Although a person with Alzheimer’s can forget things often it is important to respect them as you would with any other person take a few pictures maybe show them the old ones and talk to them about how special they are to you even if they don’t know you.

“Alzheimer’s is the cleverest thief because she not only steals from you, but she also steals the very thing you need to remember what’s been stolen.” Jarod Kintz.
